Stop losses were my biggest mistake for many years. I could not stay in the market for more than minutes without getting stopped out. I tried many things before finally came to an understanding on how to make it work.
I started putting my stop loss far out of reach for the market. And guess what, I stayed safe! There is probably a trading range of some sort. If you are still getting hurt, you need to widen your stop further.
